Laura Read Williamson, 80, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 in San Marcos. She was born on July 28, 1932 to Edwin and Pele “Pearl” (Krawczinski) Read in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Laura married Keith K. Williamson on December 3, 1949 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2011. When the children were growing up she was involved with the school 4-H program and was a member of the Comal County Sheriff’s Posse for several years. Laura worked for Comal ISD for many years in the school cafeteria. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Pearl Read, her husband Keith K. Williamson, and two brothers, Finis and Edwin Read Jr.
Laura is survived by two daughters Christine Cruess of Phoenix, AZ, and Carol Caudill of Crowley, Tx; three sons, Keith Williamson Jr. of Blanco, Tx, Mark Williamson of Bryan, Tx, and Earl Read Williamson of Canyon Lake, Tx; two sisters, Francis McPherson of Albuquerque, NM and Helen Simons of Santa Fe, NM; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, TX from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Services were held at the San Marcos City Cemetery in San Marcos on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM.
