Most roofs in Blanco’s Historic District are corrugated metal roofing and they have been around for hundreds of years. They have been the number one pick in the local area.
Be sure to choose a heavier gauge, closer to the thickness of 16 — just recall that the smaller the gauge numbers, the better. Stay away from the 29-gauge galvanized steel with no coatings.

1. The Blanco Historic Commission, City of Blanco and the building owners are to be guided by the design guidelines, and/or from The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings.
Permits and Certificate of Appropriateness – What Comes First?
2. You will need a Certificate of Appropriateness. If the structure is within the Historic District and the work is external, a Certificate of Appropriateness application must submitted to, and approved by, the Blanco Historic Preservation Commission. http://www.cityofblanco.com/docs/permits/COA.pdf Ordinance 4.4 in the UDC that includes things like requiring a COA approval within a reasonable time.
3. Read Section 9 of the UDC Chapter 4 (b) states that the distinguishing original qualities or character of a building, structure, object, or site and its environment shall not be destroyed.
