Christopher J Byars was born on September 22, 1982 the oldest by 2 minutes of twins. He was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Blanco when he was 6 years old as his Dad had gotten a job at Kelly AFB and saw an opportunity to raise his kids away from Houston. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an experienced fly-fisherman. He and his two brothers enjoyed spending every summer at the family ranch in New Mexico with their Grandmother. He would work up there in the middle of nowhere surrounded by all of God’s creations; it was a great relief from the normal pace of things in the city. Here in Blanco he enjoyed the same thing, hanging out with his good friends hunting and having a good time. He loved the company of his friends, and would help anyone he could.
The problem was while he would help anyone who needed it, he would not accept help for himself. We all loved Christopher very much and tried very hard to help him, unfortunately though in the end he succumbed to his demons. I just wish he would have realized that there is always a hand to pull you up no matter how far you fall.
Christopher lives not now in the flesh but rather in our hearts; let us never forget him for he now lives on through all of us who knew him. Let us never forget his love of people or his passion for cooking.
He is survived by his twin brother Justin Byars of Blanco and younger twins Shayne Byars and his wife Jenny of San Antonio, Texas and Tami and her husband David Cooley of Blanco, Texas and his Grandmother Jean Reynolds as well as his father John Byars. RIP my beloved son.
A memorial service celebrating Christopher’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home, Blanco, TX.
