Library updates! Our new catalog system is in place thanks to the Tocker Foundation, so take a look! To log into your account, you will need your 4 digit card number and the phone number we have on file for you. In your patron account, you can set up how we alert you about items you have on hold and receiving automatic alerts for when your items are due. We are still working on getting everything set up, but by the end of July, you will be able to access the Central Texas OverDrive e-library directly from the catalog’s homepage! For right now, you still need to use the link on our library’s homepage to go to OverDrive.

By this time next week, you will see a new feature outside of the library along Hwy 281. Our current Blanco Library books sign will be replaced with an electronic sign. The City of Blanco has chosen the library’s site to construct the electronic sign donated through funds by PEC to help share community news. Our large books will be saved for a future project, so don’t worry about them disappearing!

This Friday’s Summer Reading Program is Snakes Alive! Please join us as Jeff Holmes teaches us about snakes and he will bring live samples of local reptiles. This program is perfectly safe as long as everyone listens to Mr. Holmes’ instructions. We look forward to seeing all the children at 10:30a.m.! After this week, we are down to just two more programs:

July 19th Fun with Gnomes and Fairies

July 26th Closing Readings and Party with Connor Eyzaguirre!

While the programs will finish at the end of July, children can collect their reading prizes until August 10th. Remember, we have fun prizes like ice cream coupons to Liz’s On the Square, Six Flags Fiesta Texas coupons, candy, toys, and much more! You can continue to sign up for the summer reading program until August 1st.

The Blanco Library needs your help! We need front desk volunteers for Friday mornings 10-1pm and Friday afternoon 1-3pm. If you are interested in any of these positions, please come into the library and fill out an application. Be sure to let us know which one of these volunteer availabilities you want.

As always, remember to check our website at www.blancolib.org or call us at 830-833-4280 for more information.
