The Blanco FFA Chapter continued a busy competition schedule as they recently competed in the annual Texas State University Invitational Career Development Events this past month. More than 250 schools and over 3,000 contestants participated in this year’s event.
In the Entomology CDE, Blanco placed 1st overall with Rance Dollahite and Megan Wier tying for high point individual, while others placing in the top 10 as individuals included: Deanna Sevilla 5th, Monica Flores 6th and Erica Flores 8th. Also doing well were Ian Kirkland, Connor Anderson, and Kenny Payton.
Blanco would also compete and do well in the Livestock CDE placing 3rd. Individually, Tyler Hardin and Logan Dodd would rank in the top 20 placing 6th and 18th respectively. Other individuals doing well included Sam Isenberg, Ed Alvarado, Skylar Itz, Dylan Bates, Katherine Biggs and Kari Graham.
These teams, along with several others from the Blanco FFA, will continue a busy and competitive schedule throughout the spring semester with several more competitions across the state. Advisors for the Blanco FFA are Felice and Jason Marek.
