Charlie Rappmund (Obituaries)

Charlie Rappmund, 93, passed away February 11, 2013 in Blanco, TX. He was born November 4, 1919 in Converse, TX to Louis Rappmund and Martha Huebner Rappmund. His siblings are Erman Rappmund, Raymond Rappmund and Adeline Rappmund. Charlie served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII and worked twelve years for the Bindseil Red & White Grocery and Feed store. He later worked for and retired from the Ronnie Immel Dairy after 28 years. Following retirement, Charlie worked part time for Granberg Fertilizer.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Leona Rosaline (Zuercher) Rappmund. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Thompson and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, OK; nephew, Tommy Rappmund and wife Pauline of Blanco; two granddaughters, Katherine Coble and husband Greg of Greenwood, IN and Sandra Winter and husband Walter of Honolulu, HI; three great grandchildren, Alex, Charlie, and Teddy Winter; three step-great grandchildren, Baxter, Drew, and Bear Coble; three sisters in law, Elsa Rappmund, Evelyn Zuercher, and Irene Rappmund. Charlie is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2013 with Rev. Bobby Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in Blanco Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454,Alexandria, VA 22312 or to American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
