This year’s concert is a delicate, exquisite program taken from highlight moments in the musical life of Director Vickie Pautz. The Choir convenes in September and performs the first weekend of December -- Friday, December 7, at 8 in Johnson City at the Church of the Hills and Sunday, December 9, at 7:30 in Blanco at the Baptist Church. At this stage in practice while the choir is still learning the music, they are also perfecting the sound, both vocally and textually, to project the meaning of each piece. Accompaniment is proficiently performed by Brenda Matheny at the Grand Piano; she works all along in the highly demanding pratice sessions. This year’s concert will also be accompanied by harp, viola and cello. We are seeing and hearing this creation shaping up very beautifully. In other years, the music has been the Messiah; last year the bright, lively procession of the events of the Nativity; this year is a light, delicate offering. But always Jesus.
