Hilda Matilda Neumann Hollingsworth Smith, 94, passed away January 14, 2013 in Johnson City. She was born in Cypress Mill, TX to Arthur Rheinhold Neumann and Olga Lydia Birck Neumann. Hilda is a descendant of the pioneering German immigrants who came to Texas in the mid 1800s. For over 42 years she was a regular member of the Home Extension Club, South Citizen 42 Club, Friendship 42 Club, and the Skip-Bo Club. She quilted for over 20 years, handcrafting many beautiful treasures. Hilda owned and operated the Quick Laundry in Blanco with her cousin Pat Goehmann. In 1968 she and Bill opened the Oaks Trailer/Mobile Home Park in Blanco. She joined the Blanco United Methodist Church in 1959. Along her journey in life, she met many wonderful people and made a great many dear friends to add to her large circle of family. Hilda lived a rich, full life and was able to enjoy happiness and contentment during her retirement years.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie “Bill” Smith, beloved son, H. Lamar Hollingsworth, and sister, Olivia Bertha Lange. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Reta Killingsworth and husband Steve, Janet Hancock and husband David, and Dwayne Hollingsworth and wife Theresa, sister, Elnora Kneese, daughter-in-law, Waldeen Hollingsworth, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to express appreciation to Billye Timme and the staff at LBJ Medical Center for the excellent loving care provided to our grandmother for the past two years.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday morning with Rev. Ken Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Blanco Cemetery.
