Edward A. Singleton, 83, passed away January 15, 2013 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born in Dallas, TX to Russell A. Singleton and Lucille Veazy Singleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael, grandson, Cody Neighbors, brothers, Russell McGovern and Robert Singleton, and sister, Margaret Searl. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Wilke Singleton, sons, Patrick Singleton and wife Kathy and Shaun Singleton and wife Lou, daughter, Teresa Larson and husband Jay, daughter-in-law, Patty Singleton, six grandchildren, Karen Harris, Erin Wright, Andrew Kohl, Brittany Singleton, and Tanner Larson, seven great-grandchildren, J.C. Neighbors, Michael Neighbors, Gavin Neighbors, Paige Harris, Rylie Kohl, Keegan Kohl, and Penelope Grace Wright. Edward is also survived by many other loving relatives and dear friends.
Ed and Mary married in Fredericksburg, TX in 1950. In 1952 they relocated to Houston and resided there until 1999. Ed worked in the petro-chemical refinery industry up and down the Houston Ship Channel his entire career. In 1999 they moved back to Blanco where he enjoyed working in his garden and restoring his uncle’s 1950 Buick.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home where a Vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Blanco, TX. Interment will follow in Beck-Kuebel Cemetery in Blanco.
