Rodney Wayne Kneupper, 63 of Blanco went home to be with his Lord at his home on January 18, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. Services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Blanco at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Kneupper Cemetery in Kendalia,Tx.
Rodney was born September 25, 1951 in Blanco, Texas to Johnnie I. and Thelma H. (Edmondson) Kneupper. He attended several special education schools in Austin, Texas and graduated. Rodney was best known for his work at the Blanco Bowling Alley and Phil’s Bar-B-Q, where he spent many years as an all-around help from busing tables to sweeping up. He was a lifelong member of the Blanco Bowling Club receiving a plaque in 2011. During his growing up, he was involved in the Special Olympics in San Marcos, earning numerous awards and metals. Rodney was raised by a very loving family and never really knew he was different from anyone else. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother James Kneupper.
Rodney is survived by his siblings; Jewell Edge of Blanco, Donald Lee Kneupper of Bakersfield, Betty Rust of Canyon, Fay Schlameus of New Braunfels, Johnnie Mae Barnett of Blanco, Ronald “Pee Wee” Kneupper of Marble Falls, and Joan West of Blanco. Nineteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of friends that will all miss him.
