With two years in the gas tank, Wild Woman Weekend is hitting the road again, on April 10th, 11th, and 12th, to help non-profit organizations in Blanco. Besides the usual four organizations (Blanco Library, Inc., Friends of Blanco State Park, Gem of the Hills Senior Community Center, and the Old Blanco Courthouse Preservation Society) there will be an opportunity for another non-profit organization serving the needs of Blanco citizens to share in the earnings of WWW. Information on how to apply for the Rotating Wild Woman Weekend Grant will be release in January 2015. Watch the Blanco County News and Wild Women Weekend on Facebook for information on how to apply.
Connie Barron says, “Wild Women are looking forward to another successful and fun filled event.” Some new events for 2015 are: Bliss in a Blender by Hill Country Memorial ‘s nutritional expert. Walk on the Wild Side will explore native plants. Silk Sensations will let ladies experience painting a silk scarf. Briana Fuchs, founder of Sullivan Street Caterers, will share her Secrets of a Hill Country Chef. Women In the Wild will teach ladies how to survive in the wilderness, while Flo Oxly explains pollination in her Sex In the Garden lecture. Vintage trailers from Sisters’ On the Fly will be open for a tour. Registrants will be able to Pause Reflect, Connect--Tea Time at a guided cupping by Zhi Tea of Austin. Our own Blanco Bowling Club will host a round of 9-pin bowling, and Fencing for Femmes will give women an opportunity to hold a sword and experience the drama of the duel. Wine-ing With Chocolate brings Kevin & LaDonne Wenzel founders of Wiseman House Chocolates to town to pair their pair delicious truffles with wine and coffee. Then on Sunday morning, ladies can complete their weekend with a Sail Away Lunch Cruise with Canyon Cruiser on Canyon Lake. So much to experience, and many of the favorites will be back!
