Dear Editor,
Once again the Blanco City Council has chosen to ignore the recommendation of its Planning and Zoning Commission and voted 3 to 2 to allow a business to have a sign that violates Blanco’s Unified Development Code. Voting for the variance last Wednesday were Councilpersons Danny Ray, Al Turner, and Bobby McClung. Opposed to the variance were Councilpersons Maria Guerrero and Martin Sauceda. Chip, chip, chip. Sign by sign, variance by variance, on 3-2 votes, we are losing our small town charm. Elections do indeed have consequences.
Wayne Gosnell, Blanco
