This year there will be no district co-championship to share for the Blanco Lady Panthers as they secured the district title on Tuesday, October 21 with a 3-0 sweep of the Comfort Deer. With set scores of 25-15,25-19, and 25-12, Blanco climbed out of reach of any 25-3A opponent. Reagan Rogers led the Panthers with 25 kills, 6 assists, 1 service ace, and 5 digs. Lexee Jenkins made 26 assists, 9 kills, 3 aces, and 7 digs. Abbie Culton hit 2 kills, made 1 assist, and had 11 digs. Payton Savarino made 9 digs, 1 assist, and 1 ace. Kari Graham made 4 digs and 1 ace. Jamie McClinton hit 1 kill, 1 ace, and 2 digs. Skylar Burns and Hannah Hulburt each hit 1 kill.
On Friday, October 24, the Panthers leveled the Lago Vista Vikings with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-9. Panther “kill” leaders were Rogers with 27, Jenkins with 6, and Hulburt, Culton, and Burns with 2 each. Jenkins paced the team with 29 sets followed by Rogers with 3, Graham with 2 and Culton with 1. Service ace totals were, Rogers 4, Jenkins 2, and Graham 1. Savarino led the team with 11 digs, followed closely by Rogers with 9. Culton had 6 digs Jenkins made 4, and Savannah Kershaw made 3. Graham and McClinton each added 2 digs. McClinton hit 3 blocks, with Burns and Jenkins making 1 each.
The Panthers traveled to Georgetown Gateway to finish district play on Tuesday, October 28. Playoffs begin next week, with Bi-District dates on November 3 or 4. Blanco will play the 4th place finisher from District 26-3A.
