The District 25-3A Cross Country meet was held at Comfort High School on Wednesday, October 22. Runners from Blanco, Comfort, Florence, Georgetown Gateway College Prep, Ingram, Jarrell, and Lago Vista competed for the opportunity to advance to regional. The boys run a 5K, (3.1 miles). Blanco boys team members include Joaquin Olmedo, Chris De La Torre, Connor Anderson, Jacob Fuller, Mario Sanchez, and Trace Savage. Joaquin Olmedo took 4th place with a time of 17:48.68 and will advance to regional. The girls run 3200 meters, (2 miles). The Panther girls team took the District Championship after placing 4 of 5 team members in the top 10 runners. Bret Leigh Nance is the District Champion running a time of 12:18.78. Blanco runners took 3 more top 10 spots with Chloe Flores in 6th at 14:00.98, Cheyenne Dechert in 7th at 14:02.18, and Carrine Johnston in 8th at 14:03.88. Breanna Collins completed the 5 member team for Blanco.
All five girls and Olmedo advance to the Region IV Cross Country Meet in San Antonio on November 1.
