The Blanco Volunteer Fire Department is sporting some new helmets during October. Honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the black and pink helmets, with the motto: “For The Ladies” on the front, will be worn by our fire fighters throughout the month. When the month is finished, the helmets will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to a fund that will be set aside for use by families in Blanco affected by cancer. Stay tuned for information on where and when the auction will be held.
Other opportunities to support this cause include the purchase of a t-shirt, or the sponsorship of a helmet. Other items will also be auctioned off, including two round trip tickets donated by Southwest Airlines.
Watch for our Blanco Volunteer Fire Fighters in the community throughout the month of October, as they will also be attending different area events and “passing the boot.” Please give generously when you see them, the family that can be helped might be one close to you!
