We’re called to share the Good News of Jesus! We’re the messengers, and we share in various ways.
I may be sitting at a bus stop talking about my kids to a complete stranger, and happen to mention a situation they got in, but that it was the grace of God that pulled them through it. The person I’m talking to may have been talking about their kids, but when I mentioned how God helped my son they may be happy to talk about how God has helped them, too. That’s sharing. Many people share their belief in God, but we know it’s Jesus and their faith in Christ that will give us eternal life in heaven.
Psalms 37:11 “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”
Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
Romans 4:13 “For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
Romans 4:23-25 “Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Do you enjoy peace in your life? I’m talking about real peace. Peace deep within your soul. Or are your insides constantly rolled up and turning, anxious, nervous, angry, upset and/or confused? Perhaps you have people close to you who lie a lot? Perhaps you, yourself, are always playing people or leading in the direction you want them to go? Manipulation and deceit are evil and darkness and there is no peace in those homes.
Jesus is the truth and the light, and light exposes darkness and deceit. Truth is peace. You don’t have anything to hide when you are walking in truth.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-39 “34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me:and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it:and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
John 14:27-30 “27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father:for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. 30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you:for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.”
Be aware of what Jesus said. The peace He gives us is real and deep seated in our spirit and our souls, and it’s not the same peace that the world is looking for. We need to remember that, when we’re voting for our leaders who might lead us to thinking they can lead us with “peace” because it’s not the same peace, and that’s how many will be deceived, even the elect.
We must refer to the message of Christ and the cross He was crucified upon for our sins; and share His message of love, truth and life; eternal life in Christ Jesus.
