Be sure to join us October 20 at 5pm for the Pre-publication Book Talk of “The Museum of Us” by its author Mark Standley, Ph.D.
Dr. Mark Standley and Jeanne Siverston, MSSW, are writing a book about ways that people and families “curate” their things as they grow older. Considering the constant collecting of things in our lives, the authors have interviewed many families who have struggled and others who have learned to pass along a legacy of non-cluttered attics, garages, and storage units through carefully and lovingly working with their families and friends to digitize and pass along prized possessions in such a way that families can appreciate the collective “Museum of Us.” This talk will describe their findings and be open for sharing your story too.
Individuals and families willing to share their stories for the book will receive a free copy when printed in January.
As always, remember to check our website at www.blancolib.org or call us at 830-833-4280 for more information.
