If you have ever wanted to know more about good gardening practices, the difference between good and bad insects, which grasses or plants to use in your particular location or why your efforts at gardening may not have been successful in the past, this is your opportunity to get information from the experts, meet new people with your same gardening interests, and have fun while you learn..
Training Classes for new Master Gardener members will begin January 8, 2013 in Johnson City. Classes will be held in the Hoppe Room of the new court house annex every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm from January through March for a total of 50 hours of class room instruction. The cost is $125.00.
The classes will be taught by AgriLife Extension Office, Texas A & M University and Master Gardeners of Blanco County who have had advanced training in certain fields. Classes will include such topics as Plant Biology, Plant Propagation, Entomology, Rain Water Collection, Drip Irrigation, Plant Pathology, Soil and Composting, Landscaping, Native Grasses, Growing Fruits and nuts and much more.
You can register with the AgriLife Extension office at 101 E Cypress, Ste.109 in Johnson City or call the AgriLife Extension Office at 830-868-7167 and ask that an application be mailed or emailed to you. The deadline for returning registration forms is December 5, 2012. Master Gardeners of Blanco County will only hold classes for new members every two years so don’t miss out on this opportunity.
