The 10th Annual Lavender Festival is complete and the Blanco Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau and the Lavender Festival Steering Committee would like to say Thank You!
Thank you to all of the supportive community members who volunteered at the festival. The festival would not be what it is without the helpful and shining faces of our Blanco residents. Truly one of the reasons why visitors come back year after year! The Festival thanks our amazing group of sponsors; without their support, the festival could absolutely not happen: Blanco National Bank, Real Ale Brewing Company, Texas Lavender Association, Go Texan and the Texas Department of Agriculture, Express Automotive Services, GVTC, Guardian Title Company, Lone Star Capital Bank, Security State Bank, Pecan Street Brewing, Hill Country Lavender, Uptown Blanco Arts & Entertainment, The Hawn Holt Ranch, Redbud Café, Progressive Waste Solutions, Blanco Regional Clinic, Papa Joey’s, Hill Country Alliance, George Clary, Dean Swarthout, New Life Computers, and Strickland Drugs. Again, we so very much appreciate your support of the Chamber of Commerce. Extra special Thanks go out to Mayor Chuck Homan, Lesley Griffin of the Old Blanco County Courthouse, and Chief Mike Ritchey and the fine officers of the Blanco Police Department.
We owe The LBJ National Historical Park and Superintendent Russ Whitlock, a huge “Thank You” for donating the use of their park shuttle and drivers for this year’s event. The parking at Yett Park was a successful venture and the drivers did an amazing job. We also appreciate the use of the radios that kept our Steering Committee team in close contact with one another during the event. LBJNHP has always been a big supporter of the Chamber and Chamber events and we could not be more appreciative.
The proceeds from the Lavender Festival provide the Blanco Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau with operating funds for the entire year. Paying staff and “keeping the doors open” is how the money is spent. “As Blanco continues to grow, the Chamber of Commerce is an integral part of that growth in the support provided to our local businesses. Continuing to establish Blanco as a destination location is another aspect of the operations of the Chamber. Visitors who come and spend the night and enjoy our town brings new dollars to Blanco that is invaluable to our City budget.”
To show our appreciation, all festival volunteers and sponsors are invited to attend a Volunteer Appreciation Party this Friday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Yett Memorial Park.
