Psalm 32:1-2 “1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.”
How many of us have been riddled with guilt from sin, and when we finally went to confession or prayed directly to God in Jesus’ name, and asked Him to forgive us, have felt the weight of all those sins be lifted from us and received the joy of a new lease on life again! It’s a cleansing and renewal, to know and believe in my heart that I’m free from those sins!
And, since we succumb to sin each day, I feel we should repent each day. My personal feeling is even though my faith in Christ Jesus has sealed me as a child of God, my heart is remorseful when I lose my temper and say something I shouldn’t, so I need to repent! And in our hearts and minds, we do sin each day, if you really think about it. Remember, even gossip is a sin. (Leviticus 19:16; Proverbs 11:13; Proverbs 18:8; Proverbs20:19; Proverbs 26:20).
KING DAVID was author of Psalm 32, and he said:
“3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.” Psalm 32:3-4
I’m sure there are many people who have trouble sleeping at night, and perhaps even think of the mistakes they’ve made throughout their lives all day long! You don’t need to live like that. You can be free from that bondage of guilt, by going to God’s throne and asking Him to forgive you in Jesus’ name, and ask Him to help you forgive yourself & go forward, living for today, and letting go of yesterday.
There’s no such thing as a bad day, just bad moments we choose to carry with us all day! Let go of those moments! They’re history! They're dead.
So David acknowledged his sin to God and said “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!” Our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus when we go to God and talk to Him about them.
“5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.” Psalm 32:5
And He says do it while you are alive and "when thou mayest be found:"! Then He shall preserve us from trouble by instructing us in the way we should go!
“6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:6-7
The Lord says “8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.” Psalm 32:6-11
We do have something to shout about! Because of what Jesus did for us, we can receive that renewal, that cleansing, and our salvation! We receive all that, when we confess our sins, and receive Jesus into our hearts! Praise God! Praise Jesus Christ!
