Dear Editor,
A very depressing day indeed to see money spent on massive metal iron gates
and padlocks to keep people out of the park.
I look over and see a small child in her Easter Bonnet and basket peering through that gate
with it's fresh padlock and expensive painted sign "BLANCO STATE PARK",
What is wrong with us to lock our park on Easter Day???
To think that is what "NEEDED" money is used for?
I am told It's the "STATE" who owns it and does this ...
and our city officials (?) gave it to the state because they did not want to to care for it (?)
Allocations of money.
The original land was given to the people of Blanco
by a compassionate family so BLACONIANS would always have the river OPEN.
A free park for everyone...the very thing that has been done- they tried to prevent.
Good to note if one leaves land for these purposes how it ends up--- complete disregard for how it was willed.
Blanco's new "gated community".
HEARTBREAKING!
IS this really the best we can do?.
