We are all in for a treat. It is spring again and we are all looking for places that can provide Plants for our ongoing gardens, Food that is tasty but not our everyday fair and loads of Fun for all in the family. We may even find something we never thought of before that sparks our interest. Where do we find such a place? I do not know about all the time but I do know about one Saturday in April that will have all of that and more! Plants, Food, and Fun all day Saturday April 26, 2014 from 9-3pm at Johnson City’s City Park located on Main Street (Hwy. 290) in Johnson City. The City Park is on the north side of the street and has a short walled expanse of lush green grass. Parking is available on the two-border streets and all around the Blanco County Courthouse just one block north. The City Park will overflow with lots of non-profit community groups that make up some of our area’s most enthusiastic neighbors. Come show your support to benefit these groups and our community.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions on a variety of subjects. The Plants for sale will be mostly native plants. We can help you decide what is the best plant for your garden condition and giving you new ideas for your growing garden. Our information tables with Master Gardener Specialists will introduce you to Vegetables, FireWise Landscaping, Rainwater Harvesting and more. See a wildlife drip basin in action, find out which invasive plants are harming our countryside, roadsides and waterways and how you can help stop them. Fire season seems to be happening year long with this continued drought we are experiencing. We can help you understand ways to protect your home and property.
