The Friends of Blanco State Park supply split firewood bundles to park visitors, for a small donation. The funds in turn are used to contribute to the many Friends’ projects that help to support the park and their mission.
On a recent Saturday, many of the Friends gathered to transport a large supply of firewood to the park, in order to keep the supply available to all in these cold winter weeks. The event turned out to be an enthusiastic and energetic adventure, including six pickup trucks, three huge trailers, firewood being thrown into vehicles from all directions, stacking in the park, and considerable laughing, joking and near misses, with NO injuries reported!
We had so much fun, and the park is ready for a serious amount of campfires over the coming months.
