On Saturday, February 1st, three bands and dozens of local businesses are joining forces to offer a donation-based benefit supporting Blanco’s Good Samaritan Center at the Barn at Bell Springs, in Dripping Springs. The Center provides members of the community with food and clothing. When available, cash assistance is also given to families in need to help with paying utility bills, rent, gas, propane, and medicine.

Local businesses have been collecting canned goods and non-perishable items for the Center’s Food Pantry the last few weeks, culminating in a celebration Saturday at the Barn at Bell Springs from 4 p.m. – 10p.m. To join in the fun, please bring your donations of canned goods and non-perishable items. Cash donations to the Good Samaritan Center can be made at the event.

The bands start at 4 p.m. with The Hill Country Ramblers playing until 5:45 p.m. Next up is Bobby Mack from 6 p.m. – 7:45 p.m., and rounding out the evening is Zydeco Blanco from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

There will be BBQ cooked by Mike Ashley and team, and water and soft drinks will all be available at the event for a donation. Participants may also bring their own beverages. A Silent Auction will add to the fun and fundraising opportunities at this family-friendly event.

“We volunteers at the Blanco Good Samaritan Center very much appreciate this concert on our organization’s behalf,” said Sheryl Smith-Rodgers, president. “Every month, we provide food and financial assistance to more than 100 families across Blanco County. So we’re always grateful for any and all contributions.”

The event is coordinated by Practical Action Group; a volunteer community action network. Practical Action volunteers believe we can all live a better life by giving our time and talent to rally support for the charitable organizations working in the towns where we live.

Bag up some pantry items and bring your friends for a big fun evening benefitting our neighbors in need. The Barn at Bell Springs is located at 4000 Bell Springs Road in Dripping Springs.
