Claude Wayne Wicker, 78 of Blanco, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Wayne was born on June 9, 1935 in Mills County, Texas to Claude A. and Ima Virginia (Roberts) Wicker. He grew up and attended school in, Goldthwaite, Texas. Wayne entered the US Army serving his country as medic and paratrooper. He attended college in San Marcos at Southwest Texas, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration where he met and married Jo Ann Engelhardt on, September 5, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas. He worked in sales for the manufactured housing industry for many years and in several other sales positions.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Wicker, two daughters; Sherri Wicker and Cymbre Wicker, a sister Janell Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews and spouses and grand nieces and nephews, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 703 Main St., Blanco, Texas 78606, or The Carlin D. Wicker Scholarship Fund, C/O Security State Bank, P. O. Box 471, Fredericksburg, Texas 78624.
Services were held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco. Burial followed in Miller Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. A Life Celebration followed at the COR-JUL Ranch.
