Blanco’s boys and girls cross country teams ran at the District 27-AA meet in Comfort on Wednesday.
The girls team qualified for the Regional meet, and two boys qualified individually.
Head coach Stuart Schultz was pleased with the results.
“The girls did as I expected them to; however, some of the runners are going to run better at Regionals,” he said. “We run well at the Regional course (UTSA), so I’m hoping to squeak into the state meet!”
“I was also pleased with the boys results. I felt bad for Joaquin Olmedo [a freshman] just finishing 12th, two away from Regionals.”
Blanco’s cross country performance was led by Meaghen Seales, who successfully defended her cross country district title, and is attempting to make her third trip to the state meet.
“I’m so glad Meaghen won the meet,” said Schultz. “She deserves it, and I can’t wait to see her perform at Regionals and state.”
The Regionals meet is scheduled for Saturday, November2, at UTSA in San Antonio. The girls will run at 9:50 AM, followed by the boys at 10:20 AM.
