Parents and Students,

I hope that you had a wonderful summer. I am so excited to be at BMS this year. We are going to have a wonderful time while we learn and grow in countless ways. The theme for the 2013-2014 school year is “BMS: United and Determined.” Panthers encourage and support one another. We are also a determined group that refuses to give up on a challenge. BMS is a school where every student can experience the wonderful feeling of success by reaching his/her goals.

I believe in the power of community and family involvement. I hope to see parents/guardians often. We will be creating a parent volunteer center where parent(s)/guardian(s) can assist the school, teachers, and students with various tasks. We will also launch a program entitled “Parents to Parents – The Panther Village.” This program will assist parents in reaching out to one another for assistance, guidance, and encouragement as needed. My hope is to see both immediate and extended family members of students participate in our effort to provide the best possible school experience. Providing a positive and extensive support structure for our children is critical to their immediate and lifelong success and happiness.

The first day of school will be Monday, August 26th. The school day will be from 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Class schedules will be issued on the first day of school. Students will be bringing home numerous documents and forms for parent(s)/guardian(s) to sign. All of those documents and forms are important to the functioning of the school. Please make sure that your child returns the signed documents and forms on the second day of school.

If you drive your child to school, please remember that you can drop off at the front of the school and/or the back parking lot. For the safety of the students, we ask that you pick up at the end of the day in the back parking lot of the school.

If you have questions about the student dress code, please feel free to contact the BMS office for clarification at 830.833.5570. It always makes for a better “first day” if students are within the margins of the dress code.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday, the 26th. Let’s make this a year to remember and celebrate.

Sincerely,

Keitha St. Clair

Principal BMS
