Omar Flores Dela Fuente was called home by the Lord on July 27, 2013, at the age of 66. He was born in San Benito, TX on December 30, 1946.
He moved to Blanco in 1990 and lived to enjoy the Hill Country lifestyle of fishing and hunting. He moved back to his hometown in 2006 because of health problems. He made a lot of friends in Blanco which made his life a very happy one.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Salazar and Ovidio Dela Fuente, and his Step Father Eliseo Salazar.
Omar Sr. is survived by his two children, Omar Dela Fuente Jr. and Teresa Gallardo; his brothers: Ovidio Dela Fuente Jr., Oscar Dela Fuente, Eliseo Salazar Jr. and Freddy Salazar; his three sisters: Olga Dela Fuente, Olivia Uballe and Gloria Dela Fuente.
Visitation was held Monday, July 29, at 2 pm with a holy rosary at 7pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel service was held on Tuesday, July 30 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment followed at San Benito City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his nephews: Ovidio Ortega, Fabian Ortega, Orlando Ortega, Rudy Ortega, Ovidio Dela Fuente IV, and Roy Ratliff.
