The museum hosted a group of homeschooled children and their parents from the Kendalia, Boerne and Spring Branch areas on August 1st. This group numbered 23 people. We were amazed at the questions of the children and how well-mannered they all were. After a tour of the museum, Lawrence Coffee took time to teach anyone who wanted to learn to rope a calf. Even the smallest child was ready for a turn on the mechanical horse and calf roper. Museum tours can be made any time during the week with prior notice.
The museum has now expanded and changed its hours to accommodate new programs. We now offer one-on-one basic genealogy lessons and genealogy lookup. We will also be offering very soon a database of the cemeteries of Blanco County but that will be in the future. Our new days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. You may write us at Box 153, Blanco, Texas 78606 or phone us at 830-554-0831. We are seeking volunteers who can do many different things and age is not a factor, so if you need community services for your education requirements please contact the museum. Anyone may volunteer - no experience is required! Visit our booth at the Blanco County Fair and Rodeo this week for information.
