The Blanco Middle School cheerleaders started their 2013 cheer season with a 3-day camp at the middle school gym on Monday, July 15. Taught by Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) instructor, Alex Pena, the cheerleaders learned new cheers, chants, and dances. The girls also practiced their jumps and stunts.
On Wednesday, the squad members had the option to try out for All-American. Cassidy Wagner, Cheyenne Dechert, Carly Haack, Asher Haack, Hanna Srackangast, and Kenzie Warner received All-American awards. At the end of camp on Wednesday, the squad performed a new cheer and dance for their parents, family and friends.
On Thursday, the girls painted run-through spirit signs for the 2013 football season. After a pizza lunch break, the squad put the final touches on the last of the 18 signs!
