The Blanco County Extension Education Association annual Spring Luncheon will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Johnson City First United Methodist Church, 105 North LBJ Drive, Johnson City, Texas. Serving will begin at 11:00 am and continue until 1:00 pm. Cost will be $9.00 per person.
This year, we are trying something a little more upbeat concerning the main course. You will have the option of either ham or turkey for your choice of meat. The good cooks of all the county extension clubs will pool their talents and resources to provide a wonderful smorgasbord of side dishes, salads, desserts, and a beverage, all for the bargain price of $9.00 per person. What a deal!
Door prizes of beautiful pitchers and teapots that have been graciously donated will be awarded throughout the event. Something else new to spice things up a bit will be the cookbooks, which this year will be “The Tastes of the Seasons.” These cookbooks will be a collection from the members for the different seasons of tastes throughout the calendar year and will be available for a bargain price of $3.00 each. An array of miscellaneous items with emphasis on “homemade” will round out our “Country Store.”
The profits from this county-wide service project will help to fund such projects as the 4-H scholarships for our county youth who plan to advance their education after high school graduation and fund a portion of the registration fee that each county 4-H member pays. It is for this wonderful cause that these ladies hold this annual event. Any and all donations toward this end are always welcome.
So mark your calendars and plan to make this event one of the priorities for your schedule on April 25, 2013. You will not be disappointed.
