Saturday, April 6, the Long Star Model A Ford Club of Georgetown visited Blanco. The Stephen Smith Ranch located on Hwy 1623 was their destination. The club arrived around 12:30 and numbered 46 members. An old fashioned homecooked BBQ was ready upon their arrival. The menu consisted of BBQ chicken and pork loin, potato salad, beans, bread and relishes. What BBQ is complete without peach cobbler and chocolate cake? The Smiths recently purchased an old western wagon and the dessert was served off the chuck box of the wagon. The group enjoyed BBQ under the shade of the live oak trees.

Many of the club members toured the dinosaur tracks left by these giant creatures down in the Blanco riverbed. Texas State Professors have studied these tracks over the years and Stephen narrated the tour and related the information learned from the University research.

The Smith Ranch is a great place for an old fashioned BBQ for any occasion. Old fashioned BBQ under the live oak trees is a great setting for birthday celebrations, reunions, weddings or wedding rehearsal dinners and of course your club gathering. The barn is equipped with kitchen facilities and restroom. The phone # is 830-833-4494 (home) or cell (214-364-3630).
