The fire department is having their sixteenth annual Fish Fry this Saturday, April 6, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the fire station on 5th and Pecan. The funds raised in the past four years were dedicated to a building fund. The department’s goal is to purchase land for a new fire station and retain an architect to design the building. The fire department does not own the building they occupy now. The building is leased from the city.
This year’s proceeds from the fundraiser will be applied toward replacing a 22-year-old brush truck.
Everything the fire department does is made possible through the support and help from our generous community and through the generosity of the surrounding communities.
Plates are by donation. They include fried fish and all the trimmings, dessert and a drink. This is the first year the department is having a drive-thru “to go” line.
