February’s meeting of Blanco Woman’s Club took place out at the Lodge at the Landing in the beautiful hill country. The Literature Department hosted renowned author Ben Rehder. The ladies had a front row seat to get a sneak peek at the author’s background and writing process. Ben was a very engaging speaker, describing his research that makes his novels so enthralling and enjoyable. His brand new books were available for signing and there were hints of another Blanco County novel along with a tv show! Devoted readers eagerly look forward to the debut of this show. Thank you Nancy Cline, Ann Wynn, Priscilla Seals, Mary Nabers, and Denna Gardner who brought this wonderful author to share with us! To finish up some old business, Margie Dyer and Pat Rogers were accepted as new members to the Blanco Woman’s Club and we are pleased to add them to our circle of wonderful friends. The special day was topped off with a wonderful Valentines themed spread presented by Vickie Pautz, Ann Wynn, Shirley Beck, Janie Jones, and Connie Barron. To whoever came up with that delicious and delightful heart shaped pie on a stick, you are a very cleaver lady! Our next month’s meeting will take place at Heron’s Nest Herb Farm and the Garden Department will host the program and voting for the new Woman’s Club Board will take place. We look forward to seeing you ladies there!
