Dear Readers:
Lots of things have conspired against my getting a column in the paper regularly in the last few weeks; suffice to say, I am back (for a while, at least).
Congratulations are in order to Mr. Phil Evett, who celebrated his 90th +birthday with a fabulous surprise party at the Blue Star Gallery in San Antonio on Saturday, given by his wife Joanne. In addition, he has a show in progress at the Kirchner Gallery in Johnson City. He is not only a well-known sculptor, but a Professor Emeritus at Trinity University, and he does a spot-on imitation of HRH Queen Elizabeth! He is one of my very, very favorite people in Blanco, and I wish him many more happy birthdays! Cheers, Mr. Evett!
Congratulations are also in order for Mr. Bill and Lois Wood, who celebrated their wedding anniversary February 18. They resemble almost newlyweds, if the smiles are on their faces are any indicator! Here's to the two of you!
A heartfelt thank you to Clinton DeWolfe for being such a gentleman and a scholar - I am so grateful for his kindness.
Good thoughts go out to Judy Dorsett, who lost a stent and had to get a new one! Who would have thought she would have been so absent-minded as to misplace a stent, of all things :)!!! We are all glad she is on the mend.
And our condolences go out to Dennis and Kenneth Moore in the loss of their mother, Martha. I'm hugging all the Moores, wives included, just so they know. She was a wonderful lady, from all the things I have heard.
