Panthers Capture Co-District Championship (Bye Position): Defeat Ingram for 1st Place Seeding in Playoffs (Sports)

The Panthers defeated the Johnson City Eagles on Tuesday, February 12 in a nail-biter in the final district game, 50 – 49. Leading the Panthers, Kyle Sauceda scored 16 points. Carlin Green added 12, with Brett Champion making 9. David Ramirez sank 6, and Colton Childress added 3. Sam Isenberg and Josh McCaslin each scored 2.

This win placed the Panthers in a tie with Ingram as co-district champs. Blanco and Ingram played again on Friday, February 15 at the Boerne Geneva gym to determine the 1st and 2nd place positions for play off. The Panthers pounded the Warriors 59 – 46 to take the victory. Kyle blazed the hoops for 26 points. Carlin scored 13, with Colton hitting 6. David made 5 and Sam sank 4. Josh scored 3, with Brett making 2.

The Panthers get a bye in the first round of playoffs. They will play the winner of the match-up between Anahuac and Hitchcock on Friday. Check the Blanco County News website for the time and location of the game.
