This is the second and final call for all photo buffs to join the Friends of the Blanco State Park this Saturday morning, October 20, for a Photo Safari and Workshop led by local photographer Joe Walsh. The Fall season of the year should provide the best opportunity for viewing and displaying the beauty of the Blanco State Park.
The Safari and Workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and last until noon. Cost will be $35, which includes the cost of entry to the Park. Please bring a check or cash. A Friends Volunteer will be at the Park’s entrance to sign you in and direct you to the initial Safari gathering place at the southwest corner of the Park, the “long table.” If you have not contacted Marilynn Lageman, President of Friends of the Blanco State Park, to sign up for the Safari, please do so at 830-733-0920 so the Friends will know the number of attendees.
Joe will lead the photographers throughout the Park, providing them tips and pointers on landscape and nature photography. He will stress composition, lighting, and exposure for the “perfect” photo. Joe is a professional photographer who is known for his nature and landscape photography. His work can be seen at www.josephwalsh.zenfolio.com.
As the Blanco River meanders through the Park and the sun casts its ever-changing shadows on the water, the opportunity for that ‘perfect’ photograph couldn’t be better! So, wear appropriate clothes, comfortable walking shoes, bring your camera, and come prepared for a fun and educational morning in the Blanco State Park. (Should the weather become a problem, the Safari and Workshop will be rescheduled.)
