Saturday I took my dog for a walk down River Run. It had been a week since I had enjoyed a stroll along the river. As I usually do, I stuffed a large plastic bag in my pocket so collect trash along the way. I was appalled – there were so many beer bottles and cans (no soda bottles/cans) that I could not carry them all! My efforts were appreciated by a family picnicking at flat rock. They remarked on the amount of litter and I noted their accent. They were vacationing from Poland and were spending a day visiting our beautiful hill country. What kind of impression are we projecting when visitors remark on our carelessness? Let’s send a message that the Blanco cares! Take your cans and bottles home and dispose of them in a responsible manner.
