Members of the Blanco FFA Chapter spent this past weekend exhibiting livestock at the Hill Country District Jr. Livestock Show in Kerrville. The annual Hill District show is one of the largest livestock shows in the state with more than 5,000 livestock entries each year.

Leading the way for the local exhibitors was Blanco Jr. FFA member Kelton Marek, who won Reserve Champion honors with his 1st place intermediate weight American Breed market steer. Kelton also placed 2nd in the same weight class with his other American steer. Also placing high and qualifying for the premium sale were Jr. FFA members Dalton Savanich and Hanna Garrett. Dalton placed 1st and 3rd with his Medium Wool market Lambs, while Hanna placed 2nd in the light weight Dark OPB class with her market barrow. Hanna also placed 4th with her Light OPB barrow and 5th with her Yorkshire breeding gilt.

Other exhibitors placing in the top four of their class included Katherine Biggs 1st place British steer, Kolby Marek 3rd place American steer, Dylan Brattlof 3rd place American steer, Kinidi Moore 4th place Southdown lamb and Ty Preiss 4th place Dark OPB barrow.
