Dance and Drama Department present African Drums and Dance.
By Crystal Spybuck

January’s meeting of the Blanco Woman’s Club took place in the historic Old Blanco County Courthouse. The Dance and Drama Department, comprised of Kathee, Dean, Tish, Gwen, Pat, and Debbie, presented the African Drums and Dance program performed by Libbey Aly and her dance crew. Libbey introduced her dancers and drummers and demonstrated a wonderful routine. The dancers were graceful and the deep drums were moving. The hostesses Debbie, Pat, Charlotte, Dean, Crystal, and Tish provided a wonderful spread, the tables set beautifully in African-themed decor. Reports were given about the Silver Tea, which raised over $3,000 for the library and over $200 in food donations to Good Samaritan. The new Blanco Inc. Vice President, Secretary, and Investment members were voted in unopposed. Nancy Cline announced that the Blanco Book Bunch will be hosting an author at the Blanco Library February 16 at 11 a.m. The author is Betsy Dudley, who wrote Rena’s Gospel of Beauty. The library also announced that the income tax forms deliveries to the library will be delayed due to legislation and people can start filing online January 30. Applications were reviewed and votes were taken for potential new members Margie Dyer and Pat Rogers. We will announce their membership status in our next edition.
