Sybil M. Riba, born July 1, 1915 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away peacefully on December 26, 2012 with family by her side. Sybil lived a wonderful life of 97 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harcrow and Lucy Embrey Harcrow; her sisters, Imogene and Lois; and brothers, Pat and Paul. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Victor W. Riba; her sister, Peggy; her brother, Kenneth and numerous nieces and nephews. Through the years, Sybil became known as a “second mother” and “NaNa” to several of her nieces and nephews. She was a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and long-time member of the Castle Hills Women’s Club. Sybil was sharp minded and quick witted and enjoyed playing bridge until just a few years ago. She will be missed dearly as she was a loving wife, a good sister, a doting aunt, and a good and caring friend to those who knew her. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Visitation was held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North with a Rosary and Mass held Monday, December 31, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8134 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
