The 1st Annual Blanco Western Showcase is proud to present Jack Dagger and Dan Mink as two of the entertainers who will be at this exciting event November 2, 3, and 4, 2012, hosted by Buggy Barn Museum.
Jack Dagger is also known as the King of Fling and is a world renowned knife throwing comedian. He has won many World Championships, has also been inducted into the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame, and has appeared on several television shows, such as Monk, Bones, and Top Shot, and appeared in Britney Spears’ video “Circus.” Jack has even invented a new knife throwing stunt, the first in almost a hundred years – and it has been seen on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Jack offers different training programs, from personal interest to an intensive boot camp.
Dan Mink, also known as the Rhinestone Roper, is a man of many skills and talent. He does trick roping, in which he can change his loops and he uses different size ropes. He also is skilled with whips and knife throwing. He has “The Wheel of Death,” in which his wife is on a spinning 6-foot wheel and he throws knives around her body. Dan also uses different guns during his performances, makes jokes, explains his tricks, and gives safety tips. He also likes to bring his talented horse, Lucky Joe, to his shows. Lucky Joe can do many tricks as well, including bow, lie down, count his age, and even more. Dan has appeared on many television shows, and has received several awards including being inducted into the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame, World Champion Knife Performer and Whip Performer, and World Champion All Around Wild West Performer.
Along with Jack Dagger and Dan Mink, we are having other entertainers (Mike and Rosa Gross, Jean Prescott, K.R. Wood), the 11th Annual World Championship Knife and Tomahawk Competition, a chuck wagon cook-off and meal on Saturday, Saturday night dance, vendors set up, kids’ corral, carriage rides, Buggy Barn Museum tours, silent auction, and riding longhorn. Price for admission is $10/person/day or $20/person/weekend, with children under 5 years old is free. The chuck wagon meal tickets are $10/plate and the dance is $10/person.
