A neighborhood had been victimized by burglars, and a woman of a particular household was worried that her house might be next. Ten years had passed since any break-ins, yet she was always worried about it. Then one day a robber broke into the house. Her husband went downstairs to check it out. Sure enough, there he stood in the middle of the living room. The man of the house said to the intruder, “Would you do me a favor and come upstairs and meet my wife? She has been waiting for ten years to meet you!”
Time is not a factor in God’s ability to keep His promises. “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (II Peter 3:8). God’s promises are not subject to the circumstances of life, they do not fade because of trials or difficulties, they are not affected by those who mock His word. Take time to study and know the things that are timeless.
