Louise Sarah (Meier) Rowe: (February 8, 1936 – December 9, 2012) (Obituaries)

Mrs. Louise Sarah (Meier) Rowe, wife of Roy Jemmie Rowe, Jr. of the Post Oak Community, Blanco County, Texas passed away in Johnson City, Texas on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the age of 76 years, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born February 8, 1936, in Hye, Texas the youngest daughter of Albert Meier, Jr. and Sarah Itz Meier, Louise married Roy on January 2, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas.

Louise attended her elementary years at Junction and Pleasant Hill Schools and graduated from Johnson City High School in 1953. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Martin Meier and Johannes Meier, and one sister, Ruth Maenius.

Louise is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Roy Rowe, Jr., of the Post Oak Community, one son and two daughters and spouses: Susan Rowe, of Lubbock, Texas, Jemmie and Nicole Rowe of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Mary Rowe and Bobby Foster, of San Antonio, Texas. Granddaughter, Alexandria Rowe, and grandson, August Rowe. Sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Ray) LeCompte of Sun City, California. Sister-in-law, Mary Frances (Martin) Meier of Hye, Texas. Numerous beloved and treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to all the administration and staff of the LBJ Medical Center nursing home, for their many years of loving care and attention to Louise.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. in the Trinity Lutheran Church located in Stonewall, Texas, with Pastor Percy Smerek officiating.

Visitation with the family will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, Blanco County 4-H, or to the charity of their choice.
