With the thunderous roar of motorcycle engines echoing across the Square, Santa Clause was escorted through Blanco by the Sons of Liberty Motorcycle Club to the Gem of the Hills. This heralded the start of the Sons of Liberty MC’s 1st Annual Liberty Toy Run created to help make sure every child gets to experience the joy of Christmas.

With the help of generous donations by Blanco businesses and community members, five local children were given a Christmas they will never forget. After biker Santa Clause entered Gem of the Hills carrying his giant bag of toys, he took each gift from the bag and called out the children’s names for them to come claim their gifts. Over and over the children were called up until a stack of new toys sat before each of them, all the gifts personalized off each child’s wish lists! More than a few of the leather clad bikers were caught wiping their eyes as the children’s faces lit up with the joy of Christmas.

The Sons of Liberty MC would like to thank those businesses that gave donations so that Christmas could be brought to these children: Seymour’s Garage, Blanco Ice House, NAPA Auto Parts and CJ’s Food Plaza. Please show your appreciation for their contribution to the community by visiting their businesses! The Sons of Liberty would also like to thank Angie Chaplin who donated her time to photograph and record the event.

It is the hope of the Sons of Liberty MC that every child should have a Merry Christmas. They plan for the Annual Liberty Toy Run to make that happen for children in need for many more years to come.
