Born unto condemnation; who can save us?
16“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Only Jesus can save us.
“17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned:but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:17-18
So we are condemned because of the sin of Adam and Eve, and in order to be freed from that curse we just need to believe what Jesus said and did while He was alive on this earth, and that He was the Son of God, who lived, died and was resurrected from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God!
“19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:19-21
I had to look up the word ‘wrought’, and this is what I found: it is past tense of the word ‘work’. So verse 21 must mean our deeds could be made ‘manifest’ (apparent or obvious) in God!
I obviously can’t explain that! Nor is that my intent with this article. I’m blessed to just be able to submit God’s Word to the newspaper for publication. Your pastor could answer all your questions, if you have any.
