
The Blanco Junior Varsity Football team ended their season with a 36-6 victory over the Natalia Mustangs. With the win over Natalia, the Panthers finish 7-3 for the season and 4-0, undefeated, in district play.
After the Natalia kickoff, the Panthers took only 2 plays to score a touchdown on a 75 yard run by Kameron Martinez. Kailen Webster rushed for the 2 point conversion. In the second quarter, the Blanco defense held firm on tackles by Stephen Flores and Ryan Bible. Taking over on downs, the Panthers moved the ball down on runs by Webster, Toby Triesch, and Quarterback Kelby Cox. Webster capped the drive with a 6 yard touchdown run. Cox rushed for the 2 point conversion.
After leading at the half, 16-0, the Panthers made more strong defensive stops by Flores, Tristan Lopez, and Griffin Wearden. Blanco took over on offense again scoring a touchdown on a 36 yard pass from Cox to Webster. The PAT failed. On defense the Panthers topped the Mustangs on a sack by Sebastian Thomas. Back on offense Webster and Gage Bussey carried the ball. Webster dashed the final 11 yards for the touchdown and then added the 2 point conversion.
Brandon Phipps and Wyatt Perkins made outstanding tackles. Natalia was able to score a touchdown, but the PAT failed. The Panthers scored on their next possession on a screen pass play from Cox to Webster for a 55 yard score. the PAT failed. On defense Webster, Thomas, and Lopez made outstanding stops. The Panthers took the win, 36-6.
