The 7th grade football team earned a 14-6 win in their first district game facing the Stockdale Brahmas on Thursday, October 9. The first half was scoreless with both teams struggling to find the endzone.

The Panthers defense held the Brahmas at bay with Bowie Crofts leading the charge making multiple open-field, solo tackles and assisting on many others. Gunnar Granberg had over 70 hard yards on 12 carries on the ground, 9 yards on a kickoff return, 4 yards on a reception, and scored a touchdown. Granberg made 12 tackles which helped Clayton Brown get his running game going with 171 yards on 9 carries. Brown scored on a 40 yard touchdown run and a PAT compliments of some awesome blocking up front by the offensive line. Emmett Hardin had 6 tackles with Brayden Hodge, Adrian Campa, and Seth Blakeslee also making stops. Kade Kneese, Marshall Symons, and Aaron Daniels played tough all night making double-digit tackles. Hunter West and Brandt Wagner sealed the sidelines and combined for over a dozen assists. Kelton Marek, Jonathan Gonzalez, and Ruben Gonzalez led the way in the trenches keeping the lines secure and blocking the Brahmas with hopes of improving their 5-1 record.

The 7th grade Panthers hope to improve on their 5-1 record playing their 2nd district game against Nixon-Smiley at home with game time set for 5pm.
