Playing their first District 25-3A game, the Panthers swept the Florence Lady Buffaloes 25-12, 25-12, and 25-11 on Friday, September 12. Reagan Rogers paced the team with 25 kills, 5 service aces, 8 digs and 1 block. Lexee Jenkins made 28 assists, 2 kills, 1 ace, and 4 digs. Abbie Culton hit 3 kills, 2 assists, 1 ace, and 2 digs. Payton Savarino had 9 digs and 1 assist. Jamie McClinton hit 2 kills, 1 ace, and 2 digs. Ashley Hall and Skylar Burns each hit 1 kill. Burns also hit 2 blocks. Savannah Kershaw made 4 digs, with Hulburt adding 3.
The Junior Varsity also swept the Lady Buffs, 25-8 and 25-22. The Freshmen team completed the sweep, 25-11, 25-15.
On Tuesday, September 9, the Lady Panthers won a marathon match against the Bandera Bulldogs, 25-17,20-25,21-25,25-22, and 15-12. Rogers hit 25 kills, with Jenkins making 12. Jenkins led the team with 32 assists. Kari Graham, Jenkins and Rogers each hit 2 service aces. McClinton and Culton hit 1 ace each. Rogers made 15 digs, while Jenkins added 10. Culton and Savarino each made 8 digs. Jenkins, Rogers, and McClinton all hit 1 block. The JV and Freshmen teams also played long games going to 3 sets. The JV lost 25-19, 7-25, 18-25. The Freshmen fell 17-25, 25-18, and 18-25. The Panthers faced Jarrell, their next district opponent, after press time Tuesday.
