Alice Lee Dimler (Hight) (Obituaries)

Alice Lee Dimler (Hight) passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was born to Robert and Gladys Hight.

Alice was raised in San Antonio, graduating from Jefferson High School. She married William Andrew Dimler and began her family life with him in San Antonio. They had 11 children. Alice was very active supporting her children at sporting events, becoming a fixture at Churchill and later at Smithson Valley High School games, cheering on her children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover and imparted her love of animals to her children as well. You could always find her with a dog or two, sometimes many more, relaxing and enjoying herself.

Alice had a passion for education and became certified after her husband’s death to work teaching children with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and dreams just as she did with her kids. She also loved and admired her family and was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Louise; husband, William Andrew Dimler; and son, Timothy Dimler. Survivors include her children, Kathy Neeley, Linda Hendrick, John Dimler, Bill Dimler, Bob Dimler, Tom Dimler, Susan Pfeiffer, Chris Dimler, and Shannon Srackangast and their spouses; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her loving brother, Henry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Rosary: Wednesday, August 6, 2014, 7:00 PM, Porter Loring North Chapel.

Service: Thursday, August 7, 2014, 1:00 PM, Porter Loring North Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
